By Lori Jane GlihaThe Board of Homeopathic Examiners is investigating the conduct of a Homeopathic physician who conducted a liposuction procedure in which the patient died several hours later.According to the Arizona Medical Board, Dr. Gary Page conducted the liposuction surgery on July 3 after being contracted by Dr. Peter Normann to do the procedure.The patient stopped breathing while she was in Dr. Normann's care and later died at the hospital.The Board of Homeopathic Examiners will meet July 17 to discuss the matter. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) announced that withholding oral intake of food in patients after abdominoplasty ("tummy tuck") may not be necessary, and that feeding patients earlier could allow for quicker discharge after surgery.
