Your Health - Lazer liposuction
Liposuction is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries, and now it's even easier to get those killer body results.
Like thousands of women after the birth of her son, Suzonne Trufant just couldn't loose all her unwanted fat with the "traditional" diet. So after much research, Suzonne decided to go with a "nontraditional" approach to get her pre-baby body back.
"I wanted something that made a difference without a lot of down time."
Suzonne decided to have laser liposuction; a procedure that doesn't involve any knives, any stitches and any suctioning.
Cosemtic surgeon, Dr. Michael Lyons, demonstrated to us how the laser liposuction works on a chicken. A laser point, no bigger than a pencil dot, is put into fat between the skin and the muscle. After several minutes of low level laser therapy to the direct area, the fat just melts away.
"As the fat is dissolved or heat it will melt and quickly dissipate into the body," Dr. Lyons states.
The liquid on the cloth around the chicken is melted fat. Dr. Lyons blots the chicken, when he's done you can see it's half the size as the chicken that hasn't been lasered.
Dr. Lyons states, "It helps with fatty tissue, it helps with cellulite, it helps skin regularities, even patients who've had previous liposuction will benefit from this procedure."
Another added benefit to laser liposuction is that it also tightens the skin. It's like having a lift at the same time.
It's been two years since Suzonne Trufant had her stomach laser liposuction, and she says she's still turning heads.
"People were saying I look great, what did I do?"
Because there is no cutting with the laser liposuction, a patient's recovery time is also much quicker. Suzonne Trufant was back on her feet and back to a normal routine in the matter of days.
