There were 1.9 million cosmetic surgical procedures in 2006. That was up 2 percent from 2005 and down 3 percent from 2000. There was a 55 percent increase in breast augmentation. This was the first time it ranked as the No. 1 procedure since the 1992 silicone-implant restriction. Facelifts were down 22 percent from 2000 to 2006.
